Our Story

We are a couple in our late 30's who had our professional career plans on track until we were hit with an unexpected life challenge. Early 2003 my husband, Adam, developed symptoms of a degenerative illness which ultimately led to his early retirement from his career as a physician. We settled back in my hometown of Denver, Colorado where, for the past several years, Adam has spent most of his time in bed while I worked as a sales manager for a jewelry distributor.

Fearing the worst based on his declining health, a change was necessary to prepare for the uncertain future. In hopes of improving his and our quality of life, we decided to sell our home in Colorado and move across the country to live near his family in Maryland. But first, we chose to sieze the moment and tour the country in a Class A motorhome to spend time traveling together while we still can and visit this country's national parks.

Adam, our 2 1/2 year old Labradoodle and service dog, Sequoia, and I (Stephanie) embarked on a cross-country adventure beginning in June 2010. We plan on a one year tour before eventually setting up a new home in the Maryland/Washington D.C. area. This is the story of our adventures.
